ABOUT

Theory of Asian Architecture is structured around a sequence of lecture-style classes aimed at facilitating students' comprehension of Asian  architecture. The focus is on exploring the intellectual, aesthetic, technological, political, and economic aspects that have shaped architectural design throughout history. The module incorporates various class activities, two projects, and a final examination.

OVERALL REFLECTION

LECTURES

Through the lectures, I gained knowledge about the evolution of architecture from Ancient times to Western architectural developments. Furthermore, the tutorial sessions played a crucial role in enhancing my comprehension of each lecture. The practice of drawing the key features of the traditional street  significantly facilitated my memorization process.

FACE-TO-FACE LEARNING

Face-to-face learning for Theory of Asian Architecture was enriching. Live interaction in lectures clarified concepts, and hands-on activities in tutorials enhanced understanding. Engaging discussions with peers created a dynamic learning atmosphere. Overall, this traditional approach brought the subject to life, making it a captivating and intellectually stimulating experience.

Interacting with the tutor and module coordinator in the module has been crucial to my learning. The tutor's guidance and active engagement enhanced my understanding, and their responsiveness demonstrated a commitment to our academic growth. The module coordinator's organization and commitment to creating a dynamic learning environment have contributed significantly to my experience. The seamless collaboration between them has made this module rewarding and enlightening, fostering a genuine interest in the subject.
