ASSIGNMENT 02

SPATIUM

( 20% GROUP )

This assignment beckons us to delve into the world of drawing, honing skills for compelling visual communication. Besides, this assignment also unfolds the intricacies of dimensional requirements, scale, and proportion, leading us to grasp the art of expressing three-dimensional objects through two-dimensional drawings. By mastering these concepts, we will proficiently interpret and convey spatial ideas, unveiling a realm of creativity and technical expertise.

This assignment is divided into 2 components:

Part A (Group): Creating a Play Structure/Model

  • In a group of five members, the task is to collectively design and construct a structure/model measuring 4000mm (L) x 3000mm (W) x 3000mm (H)

  • As a group, students are responsible for creating a tattoo stamp, conducting a precedent study, sketching, and conducting quick research on anthropometric/ergonomics, all contributing to the completion of the assignment

Part B (Individual): Producing Drawings

Students need to produce:

  • one Top View

  • one Floor Plan Drawing

  • one Elevation A

  • one Elevation B

  • one Section

REFLECTION

This assignment allowed me to get involved in modelling and learn orthographic drawing and material hatching, which was an area I had never been exposed to before. I am very happy to have learnt this and satisfied with the final result.

TGC AQUIRED

personal and social competencies

Through this assignment, I learned the importance of teamwork. If everyone does his/her part well, then the team's final result will be good.

problem solving, critical and creative thinking skills

Through this assignment, I honed my ability to analyze information and synthesize data, combining it with keen observations to create comprehensive interpretations of drawing principles and processes for graphical information. This reflective experience has empowered me to approach future assignments with a more critical and analytical mindset, resulting in improved accuracy and clarity in my graphical representations.
