Project 3
( 60% INDIVIDUAL )
Designing with Architectural Principles + Materiality + Context + User
This assignment aims to introduce fundamental concepts, programmatic thinking, and processes in architectural design. It focuses on understanding user-specific design requirements and explores the notions of space, form, and function. Additionally, the project emphasizes the importance of site-specific design and the process of site analysis. Students are tasked with designing a simple building type that meets user needs while respecting the site context, balancing both internal elements (architectural spaces, layout, circulation) and external design values (aesthetics and forms).
REFLECTION
Through this assignment, I have gained valuable insights into the core principles of architectural design, including concepts, programmatic thinking, and process. Understanding user-specific requirements has been crucial in shaping my approach to space, form, and function. Conducting site analysis and integrating site-specific design elements have enhanced my ability to create buildings that harmonize with their surroundings. Overall, this project has strengthened my ability to balance internal architectural elements with external design values, resulting in a more holistic and thoughtful design approach.
